Grounded Investments was founded in 2005, by John R. Heilman for the intent of purchasing property around waterways, which were strategically aligned with his environmental business and shifted his efforts to purchasing real estate. When the credit crunch hit in late 2008, John realized an opportunity in funding hard dollar loans secured by real estate. In this endeavor he met Aaron Harris, President of Briarpath Investments who had been successfully investing in real estate through bulk R.E.O. sales. John entered the REO market in 2010, by partnering with Mr. Harris to form BriarPath Properties, LLC. In 2010 Grounded Investments, LLC, which is now a subsidiary of BriarPath Properties, signed an exclusive contract to consult Gentree Asset Management, a Canadian asset manager, on their real estate transactions in the United States, which will be purchased through the bulk R.E.O. process.

BriarPath Properties, LLC specializes in buying bulk R.E.O's from the nation's largest banks, servicers, and funds. As the manager of BriarPath Fund, LP, we bring together buying power with industry knowledge and execution.  Our relationships within the industry and our location in Dallas/Ft Worth gives us access to an opportunity not often seen.
